Raise People Up

Hello, friends! How has your week been so far? Let me know. Personally, mine has been pretty sucky, but that's just life. There are a lot of crappy people in the world, am I right? There are people that will bring you down. There are people that you don't get along with. There are people that are just full of negative energy. Let me just say that over the past couple of days, I've put up with a lot of S word. Most people would be like, "I don't need this! People suck! I'm done!". No. I'm not done. People suck sometimes, but I'm not done.
There are too many people in the world that are too full of themselves to care about other people. It's true, I don't have to put up with what I do, but I choose to. I believe in raising people up. I think that too many people are concerned with how they feel, but don't care to be concerned with other people. Friends, it's important to give other people love even when they aren't giving it to you. Someone makes fun of you? Be kind to them. Someone disappoints you? Forgive them. Someone says something mean to you? Compliment them. There's more strength in doing that than "being done". I ask of you today to raise people up. Lift their spirits, and I'm sure it will lift yours. Even if you're dealing with the most awful of people, you will feel so much better if you're the bigger person. Raise it up.

How to Deal With Disappointment

Hello, friends! Getting let down sucks! Whether it may be about a friend, plan, or grade, raising your hopes and having them smashed into smithereens just blows. Recently, I have experienced really disappointing news. The play that I was so excited to get cast in ended up being cancelled. I'm sure you could imagine my disappointment. Of course, being the drama queen I am, I vented to...I don't know...everyone I knew about the whole incident. Finally I came to the conclusion that I was allowed to be sad and talk about it, but I couldn't let being disappointed keep me from missing out on a bunch of fun stuff. Yes, I really wanted that role. Yes, this was a great opportunity. Yes, I will be okay. Even if you're dealing with immense disappointment, know that you'll be okay. I believe that when God closes a door, he opens a window. Something better will come along.
I know that for me, I tend to act irrationally. When I'm disappointed, it's possible that I'll do things that may not be the best decision. Maybe I'll say things that shouldn't be said or whatever, but don't do what I do. Think things through before doing something that may not be good. You know what I mean. Just deal with the suckiness of disappointment and find a way to keep living. You'll be fine. Also, surround yourself with people that support you and will be there for you. It helps.

Good Friends

Hello, friends! How is your day today? Let me know in the comments! Let it out! Today, I want to talk to you about the importance of having good friends. I'm sure that everyone out there has one person that they consider a friend. This is a person that you talk to, share your life with, and listen to. Friends are your chosen family, and that's something special. I am so blessed to have the friends that I have. Each of them are special to me for a reason, and I want the world for them.
While I love each and every one of my friends with all of my heart, there is one in particular that I'd like to highlight today. I'm sure I've mentioned my best friend, Savannah, on my blog several times. I just want to put it out there that she is the prime example of a good friend. She is always supportive of me, cheers me up, and is there for a listening ear or helping hand. I couldn't ask for a better friend. Friends, someone like that is valuable. I think everyone needs someone that will be there for them through thick and thin. I'm not sure which one is the better one, quite honestly. Anyways! Value and treasure the friends you have. They're a gift that are exclusive to you. Remember, chosen family.
Everyone! Go over to Savannah's blog! It's awesome! You can click the link right here to get to the site. Give her some love! I love you guys!

Be Yourself

Hello, friends! I know that a lot of my posts have been about lifestyle and inspiration lately. This is a beauty blog, I'm aware. However, I don't think that posting about beauty products and hauls is my thing anymore. Don't get me wrong, I love makeup! I love beauty! It's so much fun, but I'm not the same person I was when I decided to start a beauty blog. I've changed into a person that is different from the person I was months ago. This leads me into my main point: Being Yourself. Let's think about this.
I have posted about being yourself in the past on my blog. I think it's so important for people to feel comfortable being themselves. In this day and age that we live in, people are scared to be themselves. With social media chastising every move you make, it's easy to want to be something that will gain approval from someone else. However, it's important to remember to be true to yourself. You're awesome. Yes! You reading this! You're beautiful, unique, and wonderfully created. You're unlike any other person in the world, and you have a light to share. Let it shine! It doesn't matter if you're different from other people. It doesn't matter if you think certain views about things or if you like other things. Be yourself. It's so much more fun walking to the beat of your own drum, doing what you want to do than going with someone else. Of course it's completely fine want to be with people, friends and such. However! Make sure to be yourself and remember that you are your own person. You're not your friend. You're not that popular person that everyone seems to admire. You're you, and I love that.

Take the Extra Step

Hello, friends! I have a challenge for you. How many times have you gone throughout your day, when you can see that someone is struggling or is just going on about their life without a smile on their face? I see it. You see it. Do something about it. I find that I find so much more satisfaction in my life when I do something extra for someone. It feels so good to do something for someone for the sole purpose of making them feel better. This can be as simple as greeting a stranger and telling them to have a good day, but I challenge you to push past your comfort level and do something for someone without expecting to get anything back. They're not going to think you're weird. They're not going to reject you. If anything, you'll inspire them. Be the person who picks up an extra coffee for a friend just because. Maybe they'll do that for someone else, you never know! One small action can change the world. What I'm trying to say is that it's important to take an extra step for another person, to push past these social boundaries you've set up around yourself. Truth.

August Non-Beauty Favorites

Hello, friends! A lot of really awesome things happened in the month of August, and I am here to share my favorite things with you today!

Music

  • Girls Chase Boys by Ingrid Michaelson: This song always puts me in a great mood and makes me really happy. I always listen to it in the car!
  • Right Where You Want Me by Jesse McCartney: Do you remember when he came out with this song? It was years ago! Throwback! I love this song and it makes me really nostalgic for my Disney Channel days.
  • Shake it Off by Taylor Swift: This song is crazy catchy and I really love it! I've been a big fan of Taylor Swift's for a long time, and I really like this song. It's so fun!
TV Shows
  • New Girl: This show makes me so happy. Not only is it HILARIOUS, but I really love all the characters and the show always puts me in a good mood.
Food
  • Frozen Mango Chunks: I am absolutely obsessed with this food. I buy them at the grocery store and eat them as snacks or for breakfast. They're basically just chunks of mangos that you keep in the freezer. Sooo delicious.

Work For It!

Hello, friends! I have some really exciting news for you guys! As you know, I'm an "actress". I do community theatre. I don't get paid, but I consider myself to be an actress. I talked to you guys a couple months ago about being in "Anything Goes" in a particular theatre troupe. I've only been in that troupe for a year now, and I've yet to have a major role. Of course, I've definitely had roles that I've loved and enjoyed playing, but I've never been a lead.
Recently, I auditioned for a show in the upcoming fall. I went to go look at the cast list yesterday with my incessantly supportive best friend, and we noticed that my name was listed by the lead role. Yes! That means that I got the lead! I'm not here to brag to you about this role or anything like that. I just want you to know that if you work for it, you can achieve it. I've wanted to play a major role in a show for the longest time, and I haven't caught a break until now. However, this isn't because I got lucky. I've been rehearsing a monologue to perform at auditions for a very long time and worked really hard. I want to let you know that if you work hard enough, your goals can be accomplished. This can be anything from acting, to music, to sports. You can do anything you set your mind to and work hard on. Remember that. It may not happen overnight, but given time, you will catch a break. Just keep practicing your trade and work you butt off. It will pay off in the end. I love you.

Get Excited For Fall!

Hello, friends! I hope you guys are having the best week! I have had quite an amazing week myself, but I'll share more about it with you later! Today I want to talk about my favorite season that us quickly approaching: Fall! I love fall so much. Not only is my birthday in fall, but I've had so many great memories in the past that have been in the fall time. I just love it. So! Here are some things that should help get you excited for the approaching season:

  1. Pumpkin Spice Lattes: I know that this drink is stereotyped for typical white girls, but you know what? I don't care! This creamy and rich drink is absolutely delicious and really gets me in the mood for the fall time!
  2. Riding boots: I only get to break out my riding boots for half of the year. Not only are they super comfortable, but they're totally chic and stylish. They add a bit of flair to any fall outfit.
  3. Sweater weather: Who doesn't love a good baggy sweater! They're so comfy and cute, perfect for those crisp days!
  4. Cooler weather: After months of the sweltering sun, it's kind of nice to cool down and bundle up a bit.
  5. Dark nail polish: I love me some dark nail polish. It's really fun to experiment with richer colors in the fall, and having a nice berry color on your nails is a great way to get in the spirit!
  6. Dark lips: I'm not a bold lip kind of person, usually, but I feel like I can be a bit more brave in the fall and winter time. Wearing darker lips is a great way to spice up your look and looks amazing!
  7. Pumpkin cookies: I am famous in my family for my pumpkin caramel cookies. Get excited.
  8. Fall Collection at BBW: Who doesn't want to smell like a cinnamon pumpkin on the daily? I love Bath and Body Work's fall collection, and it really get's me in the mood for fall.
  9. Indie music: I always listen to Indie music in the fall. It's so earthy and matches perfectly with the weather outside.
  10. Leaves changing: The color change of the leaves in the fall is what we all look forward to. It's such a beautiful season, decorated by golden and copper nature all around. I love it.
I hope you enjoyed this post about my love for autumn! Let me know what your favorite thing about fall is in the comments below!

Spread the Love

Hello, friends! Here's to a new week! Hopefully you find it amazing! I have yet another inspirational message to you guys today, and this one is very important to me. It's about love. Love is one of the most important things to me, and I personally think it's the most powerful thing in the world. I know it sounds cliche, but I'm not talking about loving your boyfriend or your girlfriend. I'm talking about loving yourself and loving others. It is so important not only to take care of yourself and respect who are, but to spread kindness and joy to other people. Whether this may be through just smiling at someone or saying "hi", these acts of kindness can really help change the world.
We live in a really crazy world that's filled with wonderful things, but also a world that is filled with a lot of hatred. I say that we get rid of this hatred and this anger and just spread love to one another. I know we're human, and it can be hard to be kind and sweet all the time, but I challenge you to go into the world and share as much love as you can. It may be hard at first, but eventually you will grow to love the whole world. Have an amazing week!

A Bit of Motivation

Hello, friends! I know that a lot of you guys are heading back to school soon, or maybe you're already in school. No matter what grade you are in or how long you've been in school, I just wanted to wish you my luck and love. Going back to school is very stressful at times! You have to live up to a lot of expectations and there's so much pressure to be the best and beat out other people for success. Just remember that school is for learning. Learning, not taking classes to improve your GPA. Your goal in school should be to learn, try hard, and just have fun! School can be so much fun if you give it a chance! Try to be positive! Even if you're having a crappy day or you feel really stressed out, just know that it's going to get better. If you ever need any advice, I'm here, so don't be afraid to talk to me. Have a great year!

August Beauty Favorites

Hello, friends! I hope this week has been treating you well. I am personally enjoying my three day weekend and getting to hang out with my friends and family. I have yet another beauty post for you today, but don't worry, it's a good one. This is my August favorites, where I will tell all of you guys what I've been loving for the month of August.

Covergirl 3 in 1 Foundation: I have gone back to loving this foundation. I've been wearing it pretty much every morning, and for good reason, too! This has great coverage, a beautiful finish, and lasts me a good portion throughout the day.

Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser Primer: I have been using this pretty much every single day this month. It primes my skin, allowing for a smoother application for foundation and helps it last so much longer. Not only that, but it smooths out my pores and decreases the appearance of them. It's a clear, silicone formula and feels very light on the skin. I highly recommend it.

Loreal TruMatch Powder: After several months, I've gone back to this powder and I love it so much. It mattifies my skin, adds a bit more coverage, and makes my skin look flawless without caking up. I think it's one of the best powders in the drugstore.

Revlon Coralberry: I think that this is the most gorgeous coral lipstick. Now that I have a bit more of a tan, it looks great with my skin and adds a nice pop of color. As you guys know, I'm not really into bright lipsticks,  but this color allows me to experiment with bright colors and still look natural.

Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation: This is a new foundation for me, and I really like it. The color doesn't quite match me perfectly, but it'll work. Anyways! It gives a beautiful porcelain finish and keeps me mate for a long time, like a long time.

Loreal Butterfly Mascara: I have been using this mascara basically this entire month. It gives great volume and length, and holds a curl all day long. I love that it flares out the ends of the lashes and gives a nice, really dramatic look.

NYX Stick Blush: This has been perfect for everyday, because it's so easy to use and gives a really natural finish. I also really like the color. It gives the facer an overall fresher appearance.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post! Expect my August Non Beauty Favorites later.
